Helené-Mari joined Anneke De Jager Occupational Therapists in 2022. In 2014 she graduated with an Occupational Therapy degree (B.OT), Cum Laude, at the University of Pretoria.

Helené-Mari completed her Community Service in Postmasburg a small town in the Northern Cape in 2015. She later gained experience working with children in both government schools and private practice, working alongside several other therapists (occupational therapists, speech therapists and physiotherapists) as well as teachers. She also worked in a remedial school and gained good understanding of how to assess, treat and assist children with specific learning disabilities (e.g., dyslexia and ADHD). She further gained extensive experience working in a school for learners with severe intellectual disabilities and various physical disabilities (developmental delays, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, genetic conditions, and down syndrome). She further treats children with autism spectrum disorder and sensory integrative difficulties.

Helené-Mari is young at heart and her playful nature helps her to meet each child on their level. She is passionate about helping each child, no matter their challenges, to reach their full potential.

Helené-Mari is an eager life-long learner and often does courses to stay up to date with the newest treatment techniques so that she can provide exceptional care for her patients. She has a special interest in Sensory Integration and is completing her last module of Ayres’ Sensory Integration qualification (in 2022).
